A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces has excelled on all fronts this season, making the 2024 WNBA MVP debate apparent. For the duration of the season, the race was far from competitive, but Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever has raised the stakes.
Prior to the All-Star break, Clark was having an outstanding rookie season. Nonetheless, she has raised her game even more, solidifying herself as one of the league’s top rookies. In fact, she has performed so well that some of her numbers compare to Wilson’s MVP impact.
While Wilson is undoubtedly the better scorer, these statistics demonstrate her great impact on the scoreboard through her passes. It is simply unheard of for a rookie to average 38.3 points each game.

This is an excellent idea, as the word “value” is sometimes disregarded in the MVP competition. Clark transformed a bottom-of-the-barrel team in 2023 into one with a realistic shot of making the playoffs. Granted, she has received some assistance, but she has had the most impact on her team by far.
