Ronnie O’Sullivan, widely regarded as the greatest snooker player in history, has hinted that he may retire by 2025, citing challenges with maintaining motivation and form. The seven-time world champion, now 48 years old, has had a difficult 2024/25 season, withdrawing from several tournaments due to health concerns and lack of focus.
O’Sullivan, who last claimed the World Championship title in 2022, admitted that balancing competitive snooker with his other commitments, such as exhibitions and punditry, has taken its toll. Speaking to media, he remarked, “I think I’ve got three good years left if I fully devote myself to snooker. But I also enjoy my work outside the game.”
