The Atlanta Braves announced Tuesday that superstar outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. is expected to be ready for the team’s Opening Day game against the Philadelphia Phillies on March 28.
In a post on X, the Braves noted that while Acuña is dealing with irritation in the meniscus of his right knee, he is set to “gradually increase baseball activities” and should be ready for the start of the regular season:
OF Ronald Acuña Jr. was seen by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles last night, who confirmed irritation in the meniscus of his right knee. Acuña Jr. is set to gradually increase baseball activities and is expected to be ready for Opening Day.
On Friday, the Braves scratched Acuña from the lineup for a spring training game due to knee soreness, and it was announced shortly thereafter that he would meet with Dr. Neal ElAttrache to determine the severity of the injury and the best course of action.
