Mahomes Family Awaits New Arrival as Chiefs Gear Up for Playoff Run
As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the NFL playoffs, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, are eagerly anticipating the birth of their third child. The couple, who are high school sweethearts and married in March 2022, already have two children: daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 2. They announced in July 2024 that they are expecting another daughter.
Brittany Mahomes has been sharing her pregnancy journey on social media, recently posting maternity photos showcasing her baby bump. In a New Year’s message, she expressed excitement for 2025 and the impending addition to their family, writing, “Hello 2025✨ we’re ready for you little one.” Patrick’s mother, Randi Mahomes, responded with enthusiasm, commenting, “So ready!!! .”
The timing of their daughter’s arrival coincides with a crucial period for the Chiefs. The team secured the number one seed in the AFC, earning a first-round bye in the playoffs. This break aligns perfectly with Brittany’s due date. Patrick mentioned in an interview that if Brittany does not go into labor naturally, she will be induced on Monday, January 13. This schedule allows him to be present for the birth without conflicting with his playoff commitments.
Patrick has been vocal about balancing his professional responsibilities with family life. After the Chiefs clinched the top AFC seed with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, he humorously remarked, “I told my pregnant wife I was gonna get the No. 1 seed so we can go have that baby.” Brittany acknowledged his dedication by sharing her appreciation on social media.
The Mahomes family has been through a challenging time recently, as Patrick’s grandfather, Martin, has been seriously ill. Patrick’s mother, Randi, has been sharing updates and requesting prayers for her father’s health. Despite these personal challenges, Patrick has continued to lead the Chiefs with determination, guiding the team to a 15-2 season record and positioning them as strong contenders for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
As they await the new addition to their family, the Mahomes have been cherishing moments with their children. Brittany recently shared photos of Sterling enjoying a snowy day and making snow cones, highlighting the family’s efforts to create joyful experiences amid their busy schedules.
The upcoming birth of their daughter marks a significant milestone for the Mahomes family. Patrick has previously stated that three children would complete their family, expressing his desire to have a family while still enjoying an active lifestyle. With the support of his family, Patrick remains focused on leading the Chiefs through the playoffs, aiming for another Super Bowl triumph.
In the meantime, the Chiefs are utilizing their bye week to rest and prepare for the divisional round of the playoffs. Head coach Andy Reid noted the advantage of having played against all potential playoff opponents during the regular season, providing valuable insights as they strategize for the upcoming games.
As the Mahomes family prepares to welcome their new baby, fans and teammates alike are sending their best wishes, hoping for a smooth delivery and a successful playoff run for the Chiefs.
