Second gentleman Doug Emhoff is being accused of acting anything but gentlemanly during his time at a prestigious LA law firm, according to a new report.
According to the Daily Mail and a lawsuit filed against the firm, Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband is accused of being “flirty” with women at his legal practice, retaliating against those who refused his advances, and hiring a model as a “trophy secretary”.
Emhoff oversaw Venable’s Los Angeles office from 2006 to 2017, and according to Mail sources (who would not reveal their identities), he would pick out “young, pretty girls” at the company and invite them to ride around in a limo.
The disgruntled ex staffers described Emhoff as an “a–hole” and “misogynist,” according to the Daily Mail.
An anonymous former staffer reportedly told the Mail Emhoff once boasted about shouting at a female partner at the firm to “get the f–k out of my office,” later telling several male colleague’s he had “put her in her place.”
One female ex-staff member at the firm claimed that Emhoff’s alleged inappropriate behavior was generally known around the office, and that he had a reputation for being “very flirty” with female coworkers, according to the Daily Mail.
The site claimed that those who didn’t answer well were either put on his “s–t list” or faced reprisals. There were deadlines that you wouldn’t have to meet if you were one of his favorite people. However, they would if you weren’t,” a former employee who was female stated.
An August 2019 lawsuit brought against the firm by a former legal secretary, Marjan Rabbi, detailed “a pattern of abusive conduct by male partners at Venable,” including one alleged incident in which a partner became enraged and chased her down to scream at her, even after she had dropped to her hands and knees in full panic attack.
One of Rabbi’s claims in the lawsuit is that, after “deciding he deserved a young, attractive secretary like his partner Douglas Emhoff had,” firm partner Alex Weingarten, “a known office bully,” called her “useless” and likened her to a “child” in an attempt to get her to stop working at his desk.
Venable did not respond to The Post’s request for comment on Tuesday, nor did the Harris-Walz campaign. Emhoff,59, has been the target of numerous accusations regarding his improper conduct with women ever before his wife became the Democratic contender for president in 2024.
